Description
Come join the League of NH Craftsmen Meredith Gallery on Saturday, August 8th from 11:00 AM ? 2:00 PM for a special birch syrup tasting with The Crooked Chimney. There will be time to ask questions, discussing about the technique of making syrup and and taste-testing! It does not cost anything to stop by. The event is free and open to the public. David Moore started making birch syrup in 2008 and The Crooked Chimney made its first batch of sycamore syrup in 2013. ?The Crooked Chimney? got its name because during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, they had trouble keeping the stovepipe on the sugarhouse plumb. All of their syrup is produced on a wood-fired evaporator. In the spring of 2013, they were featured on WMUR?s New Hampshire Chronicle as well as featured by the Associated Press, whom wrote an article on the burgeoning birch syrup industry, Birch Syrup Explored as Add-On to Maple Industry. If you have any questions about this event, please stop by or give the Gallery a call at 603-279-7920.
