Description
Annie?s Book Stop hosts local author of DECEPTION On Saturday, December 5, 2015, Annie?s Book Stop located at 1330 Union Avenue in Laconia will host local author Dan Lawton from noon ? 2:00 pm. He will be autographing copies of his crime suspense thriller novel, DECEPTION. Come and meet the author, and get a book signed for a special someone on your Christmas gift list. Books make wonderful gifts! Dan currently lives in Belmont with his wife and daughter. He attended and graduated from Belmont High School in 2007. Then he attended and graduated from New England College in Henniker in 2011. Working in various places throughout New Hampshire, he is currently employed as a Technical Writer in Newton, NH. Local readers may have seen some articles about his book first book, DECEPTION, in July, as Dan was featured on the front page of the Laconia Citizen, the Winnisquam Echo (front page), and on the front page of the books section in a Sunday edition of the Concord Monitor. If you are wondering what the book is like, you may compare it to Roger Hobbs? Ghostman and Vanishing Games. Paula Hawkins, The Girl on the Train, plus various works of Chevy Stevens. Fans of Harlan Coben and John Hart may also enjoy the book. Dan?s second novel, OPERATION SALAZAR, will be released sometime towards the end of January 2016. His third novel, AMBER ALERT, is currently in the hands of his agent in New York. All the books are crime suspense thrillers. The idea for DECEPTION came while unburying in one of the New Hampshire snow storms in 2012. The idea came first (characters later), and it took him nearly two years to finish the first draft. While writing has always been his passion, he began to pick it up as a serious pursuit after completing both a Short Story Workshop and a Scriptwriting course while in college. His biggest inspiration to start writing came from a discovery of the author John Hart, who writes complex characters and realistic plots. He strives to write characters like Mr. Hart, and to tell stories through interlocking plots like Harlan Coben. Most reviews on Goodread?s are between 3-4 stars.
