We are a museum that features over 7000 square feet of exhibits; 35 working condition motorcycles from every decade, two large screen tv's with motorcycle movies from 1918, a timeline of motorcycle uniforms and literature from 1901 to the present. Several hundred original photograghs with many life size enlargements are displayed throughout the museum. We will be building a motorcycle in real time with the cuirrent motorcycle being a 1929 Mass. State Police Indian Motorcycle in our workshop that also features parts from the early 1900's to the present. There is a military display with a World War 11 motorcycle and jeep that are fully functional.
There is a 1948 Indian Police Motorcycle that we have outfitted as a Laconia Police Motorcycle. This motorcycle is made available for all to have their picture taken while wearing period correct 1940's Laconia Police motorcycle uniforms.
Our pride and joy is the the childrens area where young ones that take the pledge not to bully, to read every night for a half hour and to obey their parents; will receive a special junior motor officer badge and ID card. There is a special Junior Police Motorcycle and uniforms for them to wear so that they can have a picture just like their parents have on the 48 Indian Chief. A coloring area for them to relax and color pages with positive messages is also available while their parents stroll.
We are the only museum in the country which is dedicated to preserving the history of the early motorcycle policeman and we hope to also enhance relationships with those that protect us.
