DESCRIPTION:Come learn more about the elusive creatures that are found in our backyard! Emma Murray\, a LRCC member\, is leading a hike to uncover the secrets of OWLS on March 9. This will be a 2.2 mile hike on the Dot Banks Nature Trail to Lost Lake in Sandwich. On this hike we will learn owl calls in an effort to hear a response from our feathered friends. Other than calling out we will try to limit our conversations so we don't scare away the owls. If you have experience calling this hike will be perfect if not we'll have opportunities to learn. There are no guarantee of owls as mother nature is impossible to predict\, however there is a good chance of owl interaction. Some of the resources the SLA takes care of are usually not seen everyday and are unappreciated. Owls are some of these fickle beings that are only out at night and not an experience most hikers get to have. This hike will take us on an adventure looking for those hidden moments one doesn't usually experience. Come join us as we search for the Strigiformes of Squam.
