The Abduction of Betty and Barney Hill

Best for adults & teens. In 1961, NH couple Betty and Barney Hill were driving back from a vacation when they underwent a strange experience and claimed to be abducted by extraterrestrials. Years later, Betty Hill generously donated her collection of personal papers, (including the dress she wore during the abduction), to the University of New Hampshire’s Special Collections Department. During this talk, Professor and Special Collections Librarian Elizabeth Slomba will talk about Betty and Barney Hill, how this could have happened only in New Hampshire, and the use of the papers for research by patrons and university students.
