Description
Santa Fund of the Greater Lakes Region will be hosting the Lakes Region Chamber of Commerce Meet & Greet event on Wednesday, October 7th from 4:30 to 6:30. located at 281 South Main Street formerly Foley Oil Gas Station.
The Santa Fund of the Greater Lakes Region is a non-profit trust organization that provides year round charitable and financial assistance, particularly during the cold weather, to the needy and underprivileged children, ages 0-18 years, living in the Greater Lakes Region area. In the Lakes Region since the early 1970’s, originally known as the Citizen Santa Fund Trust, the original mission is providing aid and toys to the underprivileged children of our communities around the Christmas holidays.
Having changed the name from “Citizen Santa Fund” to the Santa Fund of the Greater Lakes Region better reflects the geographic area which it serves and typically expends as much as $40,000.00 annually towards meeting the needs of some of the Lakes Regions neediest children. This is accomplished by providing winter outer wear including coats, boots, snow pants, mittens and hats. They support enrichment activities for children including music, art, dance and sports programs as well as general assistance so that children and youth are afforded every opportunity to become strong adult members of society. With a well-developed network throughout the Lakes Region, the Santa Fund partners closely with the local school systems, health care organizations, social service organizations and local law enforcement to ensure the delivery and execution of their mission.
All of our volunteer board members are very excited to show off our building and tell you about how the program works. So stop by for refreshments, great door prizes and some great conversation about how we impact the lives of the children of the Lakes Region!
