Description
A visit from the award-winning author illustrator team and runner up winner at the 2024 New England Book Festival! Together Andy and Karel have written and illustrated delightful children’s books about life on Winnipesaukee. Books include The Witches: A Winnipesaukee Adventure, The Weirs, The Bobhouse: A Winnipesaukee Christmas Story and The Westwind.
Karel Hayes has written and illustrated twelve books and illustrated over twenty-eight books. Hayes and her son John Gorey have created murals in New Hampshire for: the Moultonborough, Conway, and Madison Libraries, also the Pine Tree Elementary School in Conway and the Carpenter School in Wolfeboro and most recently New London Hospital’s Pediatric Department.
Andy Opel and his family have been coming to the Lake Winnipesaukee for five generations. His new book is The Treasure of Timber Island . He is a writer, filmmaker and musician who teaches documentary video production and environmental communication at Florida State University.
