Pine Needle Basket for Beginners with Peggy Thrasher

Join artist Peggy Thrasher at the League of NH Craftsmen - Meredith Fine Craft Gallery on Saturday, September 28th, 2024 from 10 am to 4:30 pm for a Beginner Pine Needle Basket class. In this one day workshop, students will learn to coil with pine needles to create this pretty basket. Beginning with a slice of a walnut shell, you will start with the wrapping stitch. Then, you will learn to make the naturally spiraling chain stitch, and the wheat stitch will finish off your basket. Learn about different kinds of pine needles and how to prepare them. Some attendees will not finish the project in the class time, but will have all the information to easily finish on their own. Basket dimensions are 3 1/2" diameter by 1" high. Tuition is $55 per student with an additional materials fee of $30 paid by cash or check to the instructor at the time of the class. Space is limited and pre-registration is required.
